Who We Are

The banner above speaks to a lot of who and what we are.

We are a program about players.  Yes, there are wins, there are championships, there is true national recognition of the success of our players and program - by Perfect Game, pro scouts and college coaches - and where those are important, what is most important to us is the individual development of every player in the program.

If you'd like to see a portfolio of our work, check out Longshots Baseball on Facebook.  You don't need to be "on Facebook" - just search on it. Take a look at it and ask yourself "just how many programs nationally can do this year after year?"  This success isn't about winning recruiting wars, it is about winning development wars.

We recognize that each player is unique in many ways - physical traits, coachability, passion, teammate orientation, accountability, and on and on.  We believe there are common standards to strive for and expect, while still making sure we're connecting on individual ground.

What I really like about the picture above is that there are so many great stories player to player.  Stories of success and prowess, stories of leadership and commitment, stories of development, stories of hardship and perseverance.

Our program is about all these players, not just the All-Americans and the draft picks.

And what I'm most proud of is the commitment of many of our program leaders to be a positive influence in these young men's lives... helping them be the best they can be.. as players and young men... always being available to help them "off the field" as well, during their tenure here and well beyond.

You can ask any of the players who come through our program what this experience meant to them.  They won't hesitate to tell you.  And, they don't hesitate to offer to help the program or to just help some individual kids with mentorship or advice.  I actually believe that is why so many come back.. to give back.  It is a pretty special culture.

When we say "we're different", players and parents see it very clearly during their time here - especially if they've come from somewhere else.  Most players/parents who join us say, very early in their time with us, "I wish we would have come here sooner" - usually long before the first Summer game is played.  We are not the perfect place for everyone, but over 90% of our players try out for "next year's team" and over 80% of our 250 players return.  When you think about it, most 12-player teams don't have 80% of their players return.

In a period where the number of players trying out for HS baseball continues to rapidly decline, the number of players trying out here has doubled over the past couple of years.  All our players try out every year.  Here, you earn your way - that's why this always ends so well for our guys when they reach critical parts of their career. They know how to compete... how to earn what they want.

As I said, we're not the perfect place for every player, but we are the perfect place if you want to be the best you can be.
