The Longshots run a Winter Skills camp on Saturdays and Sundays each November and December. The camp is run by Rob Rooney, 18u manager and President of Longshots Baseball. Most of the other Longshots Baseball Senior Division coaches and instructors also work the camp. The camp is designed to focus on defensive skill development. We have position-specific development sessions and general sessions designed to promote overall baseball skill development.
Each year, former players and camp participants come back to work out in the camp when they are home from college at Thanksgiving and for winter break. The college baseball players work out alongside our older camp participants, and spent time talking to and answering questions from camp participants of all ages.
Space is reserved for each player in the Longshots program, if they are interested. The remaining camp spots are then opened to the public. We have players from outside the program participate and get better every single year.
An updated flier for the 2011 edition of the camp will likely be available in early October.
