Tom Wivinis is a Senior Division coach in the Longshots program. 2012 marks his 12th year coaching in the program. In his time with the program, Tom has managed and coaches various age groups. Tom also serves on the Longshots Baseball Board of Directors as the program’s Equipment Director.
Prior to his time with the Longshots, Tom played four years at Downers Grove South High School and was named an All-Conference second baseman as a captain his senior year. He then went on to play at the College of DuPage and played semi-pro ball for over a decade.
Tom has had two sons that have played in the Longshots program. Tyler Wivinis was a middle infielder on the class of 2008 team and went on to play at Central College and College of DuPage. Matt Wivinis was a pitcher and third baseman on the class of 2011 team and went on to play at Kansas State University. Matt was named the 2011 Daily Herald DuPage County Player of the Year.
