Todd Hode joined Longshots Baseball in the spring of 2010. Hode is leading the development and implementation of a collegiate pitching development program in the Senior Division, and will continue working with pitchers and pitching coaches at all ages.
Prior to joining the Longshots, Hode spent two seasons on the coaching staff at Fresno State University, one on the staff at Purdue University, and two seasons on the staff at Eckerd College. While at Fresno State, Hode led the on-campus recruiting efforts and worked with many of the pitchers on the staff that won the 2008 NCAA College World Series.
Hode has also coached in the exclusive Cape Cod summer league, the top college summer league in the country (where he coached Billy Mohl, the current pitching coach at Illinois State).
Hode played collegiately at McHenry County College (2 seasons), Carthage College (1 season), and Eckerd College (1 season).
Hode also brings additional knowledge of the recruiting process and college connections to the program. As a result of his extensive collegiate and summer coaching experience, Hode is very connected with the national collegiate coaching ranks. He has extensive experience with, and knowledge of, the college recruiting process after spending a number of years recruiting as a college coach.
Our older pitchers have all benefitted from his collegiate level workouts & instruction. They recommend him highly, just like many college coaches do. He, and our other pitching coaches, will focus on pitcher development, not just lesson instruction.
