As of 2012, Mike Flanagan has served as associate head coach and 3rd base coach in the Longshots Baseball program for 12 years. Flanagan coached the class of 2008 team for 8 seasons, helping to develop the 18 college players in the class (9 Division 1 players).
Flanagan now coaches both the class of 2012 team and the class of 2013 team. Flanagan also helps run the Longshots' offseason training program, coach development clinics, and consults for the Longshots Board of Directors.
Flanagan is recognized as the premier travel baseball outfield coach in the area, having trained 4 OF's from the 2008 team who all started for their college teams as freshman.
Mike also serves Longshots parents as a consultant to the recruiting process, having been in both the coaching and parenting role.
Flanagan's son Sean currently plays for the University of Iowa after starring at Downers Grove North High School.
