Year-End Tournament Success

The Longshots Baseball Senior Division wrapped up another successful summer season as each age group recorded significant achievements to close out the season.

After competing very well against the top 15u and 16u teams in the Midwest throughout the summer, the 2014s (15u) had a great showing at the 15u CABA World Series in the Crystal Lake/Elgin area.  The Teal team finished 4th in the 50 team tournament, marking it's second consecutive top 10 World Series finish.  The Navy team had a great run, finishing 12th.

The 2013 (16u) team had quite a July, as they won the 16u CABA Regional, then finished as the 18u co-AABC Connie Mack State Champions along with Top Tier's 18u team.  The 2013s then went up to the Connie Mack North Central Regional in Battle Creek, MI, which featured the top 18u programs in the Midwest.  The 2013s were the only 16u team to qualify for the 12 team tournament, and eliminated the Illinois Sparks 18u second team before bowing out.  The 2013s then went down and had a very successful week at the 16u CABA World Series to finish up the summer.

The 2012 (17u) group had a very successful summer, which was highlighted by a 17th place finish in 218 team 17u Perfect Game World Wood Bat Championship (WWBC) in Atlanta.  The WWBC is the largest, most prestigious summer tournament at 17u, and the 2012s matched the second highest finish for any northern team in the entire tournament.  Additionally, a number of 2012 players were selected to play on the Longshots' two 18u Connie Mack Regional teams.

The 2011 (18u) group finished up their summer with a strong showing in the Connie Mack North Central Regional, eliminating the Michigan state champions and eliminating Top Tier from the tournament for the second year in a row.
